Clinical Services: Therapy for Children, Teens & Adults in Boca Raton and Telehealth
Every child, teen, and adult is more than a diagnosis. Dr. Marnee’s work is built on a bio-psycho-social approach, informed by her training in neuropsychology and development. She looks at how the brain develops and learns, how thoughts and emotions shape behavior, and how family, school, and relationships fit together. That full picture guides a treatment plan built for your child and your family.
Treatment draws on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Theory, Family Systems Theory, and mindfulness, tailored to each person’s age and developmental stage.
Anxiety and perfectionism
For children, teens, and adults whose worry, fear of mistakes, or need to get everything “just right” is costing them sleep, friendships, joy, or hours of homework time. Treatment builds the skills to face uncertainty and imperfection rather than avoid them.
School avoidance and refusal
When a child can’t get out of the car, calls home every day, or has missed more school than anyone expected, early action matters. Dr. Marnee works with the child, the parents, and the school together to build a step-by-step plan back to the classroom.
ADHD and learning differences
Bright children and teens often struggle when attention, organization, or learning challenges get in the way. Dr. Marnee helps families understand how their child’s brain works, then builds practical strategies for home and school, including support with executive functioning skills like planning, organization, and time management. She also coordinates with teachers and learning specialists so everyone is working from the same plan.
Cognitive remediation
Cognitive remediation is structured, targeted work to strengthen specific thinking skills such as attention, memory, processing speed, and executive functioning. It’s often recommended after an evaluation identifies areas of weakness, or following a medical or neurological event that affected how a child learns and thinks. Dr. Marnee’s neuropsychological training allows her to design this work around each person’s specific profile.
Teens and college students
Adolescence and the move to college bring new pressure and new independence. Dr. Marnee helps teens and young adults manage anxiety, stress, perfectionism, and the demands of competitive academic environments.
Care that follows your student. Dr. Marnee is PSYPACT-authorized, so students can continue sessions by telehealth while at school in any of more than 40 participating states, right through the transitions when support matters most.
Adults
Dr. Marnee also works with adults managing anxiety, perfectionism, stress, and life transitions, including parents whose own worries make it harder to support an anxious child.
Parent guidance
Parents are the most powerful force in a child’s progress. Dr. Marnee approaches parenting through the lens of attachment, strengthening family bonds while giving parents clear, age-appropriate tools, including when to comfort, when to encourage, and how to change well-meaning habits that can keep a child stuck. Parent sessions can stand alone or support a child’s treatment, and are available in person or by telehealth.
Support for families going through divorce
Divorce is hard on everyone, and children feel it in ways they can’t always put into words. Dr. Marnee can serve as part of a divorce team, providing emotional support and guidance to help parents and children through the transition.
